Apparatus
The Cheyenne Valley Fire Protection District operates four pieces of apparatus (two engines, two tankers, one squad, and one brush-pumper) out of two stations.
Engine 521
Engine 521 is a 2002 Pierce Dash. It has a 1250 GPM pump and 1000 gallon tank. This truck responds first out for all fires from station 1.
Engine 522
Engine 522 is a 1974 Ford C/Seagrave. It has a 1250 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank, and 75 gallon foam tank. This truck also has a 50 ft. articulation squrt. This truck also has combination extrication equipment and BLS medical supplies. Engine 522 responds first out for all calls from station 2.
Engine 523
Engine 523 is a 1999 International with Alexis bodywork. It has a 750 GPM pump and 1000 gallon water tank. It also has 4-Wheel Drive and pump and roll capabilities. Engine 523 mainly responds as a brush truck, but can be used as a regular pumper, or as a tanker; out of station 2.
Squad 551
Squad 551 is a 2000 Chevy Silverado. This truck was refurbished by Alexis with a slide out tray for extrication equipment in the bed, and extensive emergency lighting upgrades. It carries BLS medical equipment, three SCBAs, gas meters, and extrication equipment. Squad 551 responds first-out for all accidents from station 1.
Tanker 561
Tanker 561 is a 1981 Ford C with custom bodywork made by the members of the department. It has a 500 GPM Darley pump and a 2000 gallon water tank. It also carries three SCBAs, and a 300 ft 1 3/4" crosslay so this truck can also be used as an engine company if needed.
It responds from station 1.
Tanker 562
Tanker 562 is a 1980 Ford C with Alexis and Seagrave bodywork. This truck was refurbished by Alexis in 2009. They removed the old water tank and hosebed leaving just the bottom compartments. They installed a new 2000 gallon elliptical water tank. This truck also has a 500 GPM pump,200 ft. 1 2/4" crosslay, hard suction hoses, and a 2500 gallon fold-a-tank. It responds from station 2.
